Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant. Example Answer The bar chart gives information about the generation of gross domestic product by two different industries in the UK over the period 1992 to 2000 where the units are measured in percentages. From the first glance it is evident that both the industries increased as the percentage of GDP over the projected period, but IT rose at a faster rate than those of service industry. Further it can be observed, at the beginning of the period, the service industry accounted for 4 percent of GDP while at just over 6% for IT industry. Over the next years, the levels became more similar, with both components standing between 6 and 8 per cent. However, over the following years, the patterns of the two components were noticeably different. Between 1998 and 2000, there was a significant increase for IT industry whereas the service industry grew at a steady rate. The percentage of GDP for IT industry reached from 12 to over 14 percent compared to just one percent increase to reach at 8 percent for the service industry. At the end of the period, the percentage of GDP from IT was almost twice that of the Service Industry. The following graph shows the percentage of unemployment rates for the female in the UK. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant. Example Answer The bar chart gives information about the unemployment rates for women in four countries during two years which are 2013 and 2014. The first glance at the bar chart reveals that, in three countries namely England, Wales and Northern Ireland, the unemployment rate fell between 2013 and 2014; however, in Scotland it increased. Further it can be inferred that,6.8 percent women in England were unemployed in 2013 which was higher than the female unemployment rates in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. In Wales the percentage of women who were jobless was 5.4 % which was the lowest among the given counties. Also, it can be noted that, the ratio of unemployed females in Scotland and Northern Ireland was 6.1% and 5.6% respectively. Moreover,in 2014, the unemployment ratio among females in England, Wales and Northern Ireland dropped by 0.2% to 0.4% and stayed between 4.6 to 6.5 percentages but it actually increased in Scotland. The rate of unemployed females in Scotland was at its peak in 2014 which was 6.7%. The line graph shows thefts per thousand vehicles in four countries between 1990 and 1999. Example Answer The line graph compares the data on vehicle theft cases in four different countries namely Great Britain, Sweden, France and Canada from the years 1990 to 1999. Overall it can be observed that car thefts were comparatively higher in Great Britain than in the other three counties throughout all the given years. Further it can be inferred that, car thefts in Sweden, France and Canada experienced a similar trend over the first five years, which are between 5 and 10 per thousand. Also, the trend for France and Canada experienced a decline in the number of vehicles stolen with both at around 6 in 1999.On the contrary, Sweden witnessed an inclining trend, commencing at the period at approximately 8, and finishing at just under 15. Moreover, car thefts in Great Britain started at 18 per thousand, which was far more than that of the other countries. It then fluctuated over the next nine years, reaching at the peak of 20 thefts per 1000 in 1996, and ending at approximately 17 per thousand. The line graph below shows changes in the amount and type of food consumed by teenagers from 1985 to 2015. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant. Write at least 150 words. Example Answer The line graph illustrates changes in the amount and type of fast food consumed by teenagers from 1985 to 2015. The type of fast foods evaluated for consumption rates per year were pizza, fish & chips and hamburgers. The graph shows that the consumption of hamburgers rose dramatically from 1985 to 2005. In particular, teenagers consumed more hamburgers over the period 1995 to 2005. There was also a sharp rise in the consumption of pizzas from 1985 to 1995 with teenagers eating this fast food about 60 times per year. By 2005, there was no further change to the number of times it was consumed per year until the end of the study in 2015. On the other hand, the graph shows a reduction in the consumption of fish & chips from 1985 to 2015. The consumption of fish & chips subsequently dropped drastically from 2005 to 2015 where it was only consumed 40 times per year.
