【 HR Solutions 】Lewes Bonfire: Britain's most dangerous Guy Fawkes celebration ( 蓋伊·福克斯在英國的慶祝活動 )

I'm here in Lewes for bonfire night. Lewes, East Sussex is usually pretty quiet but when the Sun Goes Down on November the fifth the shop windows are boarded up and the streets filled with costumed revelers and then they start setting fire to stuff but who are these people, and why are they setting everything on fire?
Lewis is the heart for bonfire night. There are seven societies, all affiliated with different colors and identities. Each of them represents different pasts such as forgotten Vikings and French revolutionaries. Cliff bomb fiery society have a burning an effigy of Pope Paul, who was the Pope at the time of Guy Fawkes tried to assassinate the Protestant King James the first. To start with, there's the battle run which is a race through Lewes down to cliff bridge with tar barrels full of smoke and a bit of fire. Then we carry 17 crosses representing the 17 protestant martyrs murdered by Mary the first and was the largest bonfire of people in the history of England.
The most significant part of the evening is the tributes at the War Remembrance Memorial where we all pay our respects to the Fallen. However, the pièce de résistance or highlight of the evening is the bonfire at the site of the cliff bonfire with a lot of heat, burning effigies of Guy Fawkes, fireworks and traditional food to remember the 5th of November... "Remember remember the fifth of November. Gunpowder, treason, and plot. I see no reason why gunpowder, treason. Should ever be forgot...".
Happy Bonfire Night!
